The Corporation has commissioned a consultant to conduct the Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the project to ensure its design, construction and future operation will comply with the relevant requirements in accordance with the Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance. Mitigation measures will also be put in place as appropriate to minimise works impact on the public and environment.

The Environmental Impact Assessment Report of the Tung Chung Line Extension was approved on 12 July 2022 and the Environmental Permit for the project was issued on 9 August 2022.

The Corporation will conduct environmental impact monitoring in accordance with the Environmental Monitoring and Audit Manual during the construction period. The monitoring data and monthly reports will be submitted to the Environmental Protection Department and made available for public viewing.
